~~Adz:Left~~CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – EARL WALTERS will have to serve a six-month prison sentence for damaging the windscreen of a Police vehicle.

Magistrate Yasmine Clarke yesterday sent Walters to prison for smashing the windscreen of a Police vehicle in Charlestown on April 27, 2008.

Evidence revealed in court that after committing the act, Walters ran in the direction of Best Buy when Police officers attempted to arrest him.

Walters told the court that Police officers triggered his action because they wanted to take away a CD player which he said had been given to him as a gift by one Sandra Maynard.

He pleaded with the Magistrate not to send him to jail and requested that he be allowed to pay a fine.
