Basseterre, St. Kitts (January , 2005): St. Kitts is featured prominently on the cover page of the Online Edition of the New York Daily News.

The article entitled Three Weekend Trips That Thaw You Out highlighted the aspects of the St. Kitts tourism product that make it charming and especially inviting to those needing a break from the cold winter months.

Referred to as The rarest of tropical paradises, St. Kitts was also given great reviews for its myriad of natural wonders, the stunning beauty of its landscape, and its vibrant culture largely unspoilt by mass tourism.

Chief Executive Officer at the Tourism Authority, Christine Walwyn said that her ministry is reaping rewards  for its attempts to market St. Kitts, The Next Caribbean Adventure, to the international community.

Ms. Walwyn said that the Federation is now uniquely placed to impact the tourist industry in a huge way with its eclectic offering of historical sites,  well preserved old-world-style buildings, nature hikes, culture and entertainment.

She added that travel writers and enthusiasts are excited about the rare offerings of St. Kitts which aids marketing tremendously. She noted however that this would not be an invitation to decrease efforts. Ms. Walwyn said everyone still has a responsibility to represent St. Kitts and Nevis in the best possible light by taking every opportunity to share positive information about the country and going out of the way to be hospitable.

The CEO added that she expects many more articles and stories about the treasures of St. Kitts and Nevis.
