ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, February 27th, 2012 – In his speech titled “Journey to Recovery: Changing the Direction of the Virgin Islands”, Premier and Minister for Finance Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE will report on Government’s first 100 days in office, while addressing the different initiatives to enhance the Virgin Islands’ economy.
The address to the Territory airs tonight on CBN Channel 51 at 5:30pm, JTV Channel 55 at 6pm and HLSCC Channel 52 at 8pm. Speaking to the Department of Information and Public Relations Director of Communications for the Government of the Virgin Islands Mrs. Arliene T. Penn said, “The report on Government’s activities in its first 100 days since taking office in November is aligned with the administration’s core principles of accountability, openness and effective leadership.”
She added, “This is an opportunity for the public to get a holistic view or understanding of where the ministers and their ministries, department, units and statutory boards currently are in achieving Government’s agenda. The Premier will speak about the road ahead and what his Government is doing to foster relationships with the public.”
