BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, February 27th, 2012 (CUOPM) – The Republic of China (Taiwan) has pledged increased continue bi-lateral cooperation with the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
“I would like to pledge my Government’s commitment to continue our cooperation with Government of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis and do our utmost effort to bring our mutual cooperation to the new high,” said Resident Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), His Excellency Miguel Tsao.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony of 2,900 (correct) laptop computers to St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas.
“In 2012, apart from the laptop programme, we still have a wide range of cooperation programmes with the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis,” said Ambassador Tsao.
He said the cooperation programmes include the Agro-Tourism Demonstration Farm, which is moving forward as well as the Day Care Centre for St. Paul’s with the ground-breaking ceremony planned for next week.
Ambassador Tsao said renewable energy plans are currently under crafting between St. Kitts and Nevis and the Republic of China and his country will continue to provide scholarships under its ICDF programme and other Human Resource Empowerment training initiatives.
