Queen and Calypso show among calendar of events for Labour Party

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party has released a calendar of activities in commemoration of their 80th anniversary of the founding of that political party.

     

    The list of activities were released last Wednesday (Feb. 22) at the Labour Party's Press Conference that was held at Masses House.

     

    The activities are expected to run from February to November and are as follows:
    • February - A church service was held on February 26 at 4:30 p.m. to commemorate the party's 80th anniversary. The service took place at the St. Peter's Anglican Church.

     

    • March 5. - The launch of an essay competition at Masses House.       
                                   -   Panel Discussion will be held on that same day.

     

    • April 9 will see the Party's Easter Monday Labour Picnic taking place at Black Rocks starting at noon.

     

    • April 10 at 7:00 p.m -"Rapping with Your Labour Leaders" in Old Road

     

    • April 24 at 7.00 p.m. - "Rapping with Your Labour Leaders” in St. Paul's.

     

    • May 3 and May 6 Public meetings will be held at 7:00 p.m. Venues for these events will be given in a subsequent publication.

     

    • May 5 at 8:00 p.m -The Miss Labour 80 Queen Pageant will take place at Carnival Village.

     

    • May 7 - Labour Day Workers' March throughout the streets of Basseterre.

     

    • June 6 at 3:00 p.m. The video diary "Labour through the years" will be launched.
     
    • June 10 - the Labour 80 Inter-Constituency Sports Tournament, which includes dominoes and draughts, will be taking place.

     

    • June 10 at 7:00 p.m.  - Calypso Show

     

    • July  3rd Panel Discussions  and the launch of Magazine and Red Club

     

    • July 4th - Red Club Exhibition.

     

    • August will see the Football and Cricket leg of the Labour 80 Inter-Constituency Sports Tournament, while

     

    • September will see the Labour 80 Sports Day.

     

    • October - A Panel Discussion

     

    • November - a Recognition Banquet will bring down the curtains on the 80th anniversary of the founding of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party.

     

    Ten months of non-stop celebrating awaits all interested persons. Ten months of activities in which all are invited to participate.
