GEORGE, Grenada, February 29th, 2012  --  Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has welcomed a statement from the Director General of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OCES), Dr. Len Ishmael, which highlights the “indelible mark” that former Prime Minister George Brizan has made on Grenada and the region.

According to the message from the OECS Director General to the Government and People of Grenada, Mr. Brizan has left behind a legacy of service in a long and illustrious career.

“It is with deep regret that I learn of the death of Mr. George Brizan. This distinguished and venerable son of Grenada and the OECS has left behind a legacy that has made an indelible mark on the history and politics of the Eastern Caribbean region.

In his short life, George Brizan demonstrated the long held wisdom that “Service is man’s greatest Occupation” and his long and illustrious career in the service of the Grenadian people will continue to inspire the people of our region for generations to come.

The untimely death of Mr. Brizan is tragic loss to all, but his lifetime of achievements and legacy will live on.
