CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, February 29th, 2012  --  Just two weeks after being elected President of the Nevis Netball Association, netball enthusiast Ms. Jeanette Grell-Hull MH, backed by the support of her energetic executive team, set out to revive, on Nevis, the sport of netball.

The Feb. 21 meeting, held at the Red Cross Building in Charlestown, commenced at 6pm and continued until approximately 9pm as committee members seemed enthused about reviving the much-loved sport.

Among the agenda items was the submission of proposed amendments to the Nevis Netball Association’s constitution. According to Ms. Grell-Hull, the proposed amendments would be presented to the wider Nevis Netball Association for approval "in order to bring the constitution in line with others in the region."

With the establishment of a Facebook account under the name “Nevis Netball,” the newly elected executive body is seeking the involvement of the entire Nevisian community in reviving the sport.

On Feb. 12, netball enthusiasts were asked to submit, via Facebook, suggestions and concerns about netball on Nevis.

At the recently held executive meeting, the suggestions were noted and discussions commenced on possible plans for 2012. Among the plans discussed was the re-initiation of netball clinics.

President Grell-Hull, noting that she wants “to hear netball, netball, netball,” called on girls aged nine to 16 to register for netball clinics. Interested girls are encouraged to contact any member of the executive body for registration details.

Other members of the Nevis Netball Association’s executive body are Vice President Ms. Vera Herbert, Secretary Ms. Tricia Williams, Treasurer Ms. Sasha Liburd and Asst. Secretary-Treasurer Mrs. Hazel Manners-David.

Ms. Latoya Bussue, Mrs. Lydia Thompson-Claxton and Ms. Jasmine Charles are floor members while Attorney Kurlyn Merchant and Ms. Jáedee Caines were recently appointed to serve as Legal Advisor and Public Relations Officer respectively.
