Cayon teen charged with attempted murder

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A teenager residing at Lower Cayon was today (Mar. 9) formally arrested and charged for attempting to murder another young man from that village.

     

    Charged with attempted murder is 19-year-old Rasheem Gaskin.

     

    According to Inspector Charles Smithen, head of the Criminal Investigation Department, “The police at 12:00 p.m. today arrested and charged Gaskin for attempting to murder Anthony Pringle of also of Cayon. The offence took place last night at about 10:32 in Cayon.”

     

    Inspector Smithen also said that Gaskin is scheduled to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court later today.

     

    SKNVibes learnt that Gaskin had fired a number of shots at Pringle, but was unable to ascertain if he was wounded or not.

     

    Police Press and Public Relations Officer Sergeant Stephen Hector noted that the Commissioner of Police is pleased with the support given by the general public and endeavours to ensure that the best possible response of the agency is given within 24 hours of each crime.
