BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – INFORMATION reaching this media house states that a recommendation was made for the dismissal of the Police Officer who was charged with armed robbery.

A past Police press release had informed that Constable Germin Gaskin was suspended from active duty pending the determination of the charge.

SKNVibes was however reliably informed that sometime last week the Police Constable appeared before a tribunal and it was recommended that his services at the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police be terminated.

According to further information received, the recommendation would be taken before the Police Service Commission for the final decision to be made.

Gaskin of Upper Shaw Avenue, along with Anthony Francis of River Park, Nevis, allegedly robbed a businessman at gun point and took from him his personal belongings including an iPod, cellular phones, a wristwatch and an undisclosed sum of money.

According to reports, the man was robbed just after midnight on May 29, 2008 while outside his home. Police investigations led to the arrest of their colleague, Gaskin, and his alleged partner in crime.   ~~Adz:Right~~

The two men were taken before the District “C” Magistrate Court on Friday, May 30, 2008 and were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison. They were also taken before the District “A” Magistrate Court on Friday, June 6, 2008 and were further remanded.
