Attempted robbery victim shot on Nevis

By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – POLICE at the Nevis Division are investigating a shooting incident that left a Cole Hill resident seeking medical attention to one of his thighs at the Alexandra Hospital.

Shot last night (Mar. 14) was Orville Bartlette, who SKNVibes learned was treated for his wound and discharged.

According to Police PRO Sergeant Stephen Hector, police received report of the shooting at approximately 8:13 p.m. and “initial investigations revealed that Mr. Bartlette had just arrived home from the School’s Sports Day and two persons approached him whilst he was in the company of others and shot at him. Further information would be provided as we intensify our investigations into this matter”.

This publication however learned that Bartlette was selling Barbeque Chicken at the School’s Sports Day and, as he was about to enter his Cole Hill home, two men approached and demanded money from him.

It is understood that Bartlette told them that he had none and one of the unmasked bandits shot him in one of his thighs and fled the scene.

Further information states that one man is in custody assisting police with their investigations, but this is yet to be confirmed.
