CFBC Dance Ensemble to stage recital in April

    Basseterre, St. Kitts March 15th, 2012  --   The Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) Dance Ensemble has announced that plans are in the works for the staging of a dance production – DANCE WORKS - on April 14th. 

     

    With a record breaking membership of forty-three (43) dancers, who are all full time students at the CFB College, it was also revealed that a dynamic repertoire of pieces will be presented highlighting various of genres of dance such hip hop, african, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, dancehall, soca, abstract, folk and contemporary.

     

    “The Ensemble is replete with exciting young dancers and choreographers bursting with energy and style and all those who are lovers of the art form, must mark April 14th on their calendar for there will be beautiful dancing as well as other artistic expressions at which the members are quite skilled.” These sentiments were recently uttered by Director Julie Martin during one of the intense dance training sessions held at the Victoria Road Community Center. 

     

    Also assisting the dancers are Heidi Slack, who was honored this year for her 20+ years of contribution to the Performing Arts in addition to former Ensemble members Ozelle Martin, Shanda Labega and Shara Lee Mourillon.

     

    Since its inception over fifteen years, the CFBC Dance Ensemble has been providing dance instruction as well as performance and choreography opportunities to college students.  Presently, the group is managed by President - Candace Richards, Vice President- Nekirah Nicholls, Public Relations Officer - Desi Brown, Secretary / Treasurer-  Donalene Roberts and Assistant Secretary/Treasurer - Aldeen Isaac.
