Sandy Point Holds Gold In Fight for Change!

    Hon. Shawn Richards

Basseterre; St. Kitts - Residents of Constituency #5, "Shawn City", came out this past Tuesday 10, June 2008 for the Bold in Gold Rally held by the People's Action Movement (PAM). As the Parliamentarian for Constituency #5, the Hon. Shawn K. Richards thanked Sandy Pointers for their support over the past 5 years, and also thanked all those who confirmed their names on the voter list during the recent mobile process.

On the issues, Mr. Richards addressed the lack of reliable basic health and energy services under the Labour Government. Mr. Richards drew specific examples of local farmers not receiving support after being removed from their land at the nearby La Valley Project. After years incomplete, Mr. Richards stressed that the Government-mismanaged La Valley site also stored unused generators, which could be used to protect Sandy Point and the surrounding area from frequent electricity outages.

On health, Mr. Richards spoke of an elderly resident who could not get the prescription needed because paracetamol was in shortage at the government pharmacy. Mr. Richards assured residents that they could continue to rely on him to personally meet their needs for such basic medicine. ~~Adz:Right~~

Political Leader Mr. Lindsay Grant committed a new PAM Government to this reliable representation for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis. Mr. Grant continued, that Change with PAM would give attention to the high food prices, which now force young families to choose between paying rent and feeding themselves.  Mr. Grant also assured that a new PAM government would increase the minimum wage that remains unchanged after 13 years of Labour.

To conclude, Mr. Grant thanked Sandy Pointers for continuing the fight for Change with the People's Action Movement.

    Time for Change!

The next Public Meeting will be held at 8 pm in Old Road on Thursday June 12, 2008. Listen live @ SugarCity Rock.
