ROADTOWN Tortola BVI,  March 28th,  2012  – Governor Boyd McCleary has issued the following statement about the Commissioner of Police.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Reynell Frazer will be retiring from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) in June 2013, on reaching the age of sixty. Mr Frazer will, however, be going on pre-retirement leave from 1 April 2012.

The Governor has thanked the Commissioner for his unstinting service to the community since he joined the RVIPF as a constable in 1973. “Throughout his service, Mr. Frazer has been an officer of great loyalty and integrity. I wish him well in his retirement”.

The Governor announced that he has appointed Mr. David Morris, currently Deputy Commissioner of Police, to act as Commissioner until 31 May 2013. In good time before then, the Commissioner’s post will be advertised.

The Governor has also appointed Mr. Alwin James, currently Superintendent of Police, to act as Deputy Commissioner. Mr. James will act for six months in the first instance.
