Busy week for Nevis Police

~~Adz:Left~~CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - POLICE yesterday issued a press release confirming SKNVibes’ story that a motor jeep was shot at on the evening of Sunday, June 15, 2008.
The motor jeep, driven by Oriel Perkins of Government Road, was shot at in Bath Village in the vicinity of Bom’s Shop.
According to the release, the windows on the driver’s side were shot and shattered but Perkins was unhurt.
No arrests have been made to date but investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, a Police press release has confirmed that members of the Nevis Division of the Police Force carried out a thorough search of various residences in the village of Low Street, Charlestown.
The operation was aimed at unearthing illegal firearms, ammunition and drugs.
SKNVibes has learnt that while no firearm, ammunition or drugs was found in any of the residences, a quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana and a number of assorted ammunitions were discovered in nearby lots.
Passersby indicated that some of the finds were hidden among the cracks in trees within the area.
No one has yet been held accountable.
The release also indicated that four persons were arrested on suspicion of murder while Tanya Powell of Craddock Road was arrested for obstruction and police battery.
