BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, March 31, 2012 - Day one of the competition saw nine schools making their way to the medal podium having completed six finals with the Long Jump Under-nine Boys and Girls, the High Jump Under-11 Boys and Girls and the Shot Put Under-13 Boys and Girls, as Cayon and Tucker Clarke Primary Schools lead the pack with tw gold medals each.

One record was broken in the Under-13 Boys 4X100m Heat by the Sandy Point Primary School. The quartet comprising of Joel Browne, Jahnaza Francis, Diondre Morris and Dimetre Browne, finished in a time of 51.80 seconds to break the previous mark of 53.00 seconds set last year by the Tucker Clarke Primary School.
We expect to have a treat for our hard working athletes to conclude the 2012 scholastic competitions at the closing ceremony this evening.
