Five escape serious injury in two-vehicle crash

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FIVE individuals aboard two vehicles were involved in a late-night crash on Saturday (Apr. 7) but were fortunate to escape the accident with little or no injury.

The accident – this publication understands – occurred at approximately 10:45 pm between motor jeep PA6243, owned and driven by Cara Mayer of Mattingley Heights and motorcar PA633 driven by Omarwale Edmeade of Old Road.

SGT Amory of the Traffic Department told this media house that from the information he received, PA633 was travelling from Basseterre towards Old Road’s direction and while at the Mattingley Heights entrance collided with PA6243.

He said Edmeade appeared to have lost control of the vehicle which resulted in it colliding to the right side of PA6243 which was travelling in the opposite direction. PA633 flipped as a result of the impact and landed on its roof in the nearby yard of a Mattingley Heights resident.

PA633 had contained three passengers, all of whom, along with the driver, were transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital but no serious injuries were recorded.

    Mayer was also reportedly uninjured.

The Traffic Department was summoned to the scene and began its investigations. And according to Amory, it is likely that charges will be laid shortly.
