Basseterre, St. Kitts (February 16, 2005): SERVOL Early Childhood Tutor,   Ms. Susan Goupaul returned to Trinidad recently following an assessment of local early childhood interns.

The interns, despatched from the Servol Early Childhood Training Centre in Trinidad where they are being trained, have returned to St. Kitts and Nevis to do some practical work in the field of Early Childhood Education.

There are six interns; four from St. Kitts and two from Nevis including Aisha Henry; Sophia Johnson; Alecia Stevens, Paulette Phillip, Josette Myers and Judith Door.

Early Childhood Coordinator Mrs Vanta Walters said Ms Goupaul gave valuable insight into the strengths and weaknesses of the interns, allowing Early Childhood Unit staff to target specific areas of need. The coordinator added that Mrs Goupaul was pleased with the overall performance of the interns.

Mrs Walters noted that Ms Goupaul also gave an update concerning the progress of six interns from the Federation, now stationed at the centre in Trinidad who are also doing quite well.

Ms Walters said that the goal is to have all early childhood educators in the Federation qualified to care for the nations greatest resource: its children.
