Mr. Jeffers and Family

Retired Commissioner of Police, Mr. Robert Jeffers, was honored on Wednesday 25th June 2008 with the display of a portrait of himself at the office of the Commissioner of Police.
In a brief ceremony to unveil the portrait, Minister of National Security, Hon Dwyer Astaphan expressed his appreciation for the 41 years of outstanding service Mr. Jeffers gave to the Force and the country.
He suggested that portraits or photos of all former commissioners, be similarly displayed in the office.
In his acceptance remarks, Retired Commissioner Jeffers thanked the Minister and the Police Force for the gesture and show of appreciation for his service, and concurred with the minister that the other former commissioners should be likewise honoured and recognised.
The portrait was drawn by Kate Spencer. Jeffers explained that he was impressed with the attention she paid to detail, adding that it took him five (5) visits to her studio and 10 hours of sitting, before the portrait was complete. He expressed his satisfaction with the finish product. ~~Adz:Right~~
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Jeffers’ wife, his daughters and family friend, the Force Chaplin, Assistant secretary in the Ministry on National Security, Mr. Ivor Blake, and other Gazetted officers of the Police Force.
