Strict security for SK Music Festival...patrons urged to adhere to security measures

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts: WITH the opening of the 12th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival just hours away, the Festival Committee is reminding patrons of security measures put in place to ensure ‘a safe time for festival goers’.
According to a press release issued by the Security Sub-Committee patrons will access the Warner Park Football Stadium via the four smaller gates on Victoria Road and there will be a strict ‘No re-entry’ policy implemented.
“All patrons entering the stadium will be subject to a search of their purses, bags and person as a condition of entry. No knives or other similarly sharp instruments, firearms, or other weapons will be permitted in the stadium.
“All vendors will be required to serve drinks from plastic cups as no glass bottles will be permitted and for all those persons planning on capturing the performances on camera, there will be no digital or video cameras or any other recording devices allowed without authorization from the Music Festival Committee,” the statement read. ~~Adz:Right~~
Patrons using the stands are asked not to stand in the walkways and passage ways as to cause obstruction and no patrons will be permitted in specified areas within the stadium without the appropriate access pass.
The release also informed that police and other security personnel will be on hand to control access to restricted areas and enforce the security and safety measures.
The statement ended by saying persons found to be in violation of the security or other restrictions will be immediately escorted from the stadium.
The Security heads asked for the co-operation of the general public to make certain that the three day entertainment extravaganza was a success.
