    TDC celebrates 35 successful years by honouring staff

    Basseterre, St. Kitts- TDC held its 35th Annual General Meeting for shareholders recently and staff took centre stage as management honoured long serving employees from both St. Kitts and Nevis branches of the company.

     

    Fourteen honourees- 11 persons from St Kitts and three Nevis- received 10, 15 and 20 year-long-service commemorative pins while others received theirs for dedicating 25, 30 and 35 years to the company.

     

    Three members of staff were recognised for excellence in the categories of Sales, Service and Employee of the Year by the Jacques A Cramer “Employee of the Year” Award Committee. The TDC Nevis staff outperformed their St. Kitts colleagues winning in all three categories.

     

    Reese Liburd, a Shipping Clerk in Nevis won the Service Award from a field of 15 nominees and was described as ‘someone whom anyone in any other department could call on for assistance in an emergency’. Sylvester Smith, a Truck Driver at the Nevis Home & Building Depot was the runner up in this category. ~~Adz:Right~~

     

    Thyrone Hendrickson of the TDC Nevis Home & Building Depot edged out seven other persons to win the Sales Award, making it his second consecutive win in that category.

     

    Kitwana Olugbala, a Senior Clerk in the TDC Nevis Rentals outshone all 20 of the other possible candidates to take home the 2008 Employee of the Year Award.  Olugbala was described as a person ‘who was always available for the customer and the company’.

     

    SKNVibes.com spoke to Dennis Knight the Manager of Human Resources at TDC who indicated that, “I observed a marked improvement in the performance and morale of the staff however, there is still room for improvement based on the targets set by the company at the start of the financial year”.
