Basseterre, St. Kitts (February 17, 2005): Temple Church of Dieppe Bay is fulfilling is celebrating its 25th anniversary and fulfilling its outreach to the
community by adopting several day care centres in its vicinity.
The centres include the St. Pauls Nursery, Dieppe Bay Day Care Centre and Saddlers Nursery, which are all centres in the churchs zone.
According to Pastor Eugene and First Lady Springette who handed over initial cheques in the amount of E.C. $1000 to each facility, the church has decided that part of its role is community development.
In a brief ceremony at the Early Childhood Development Unit, First lady Springette gave the cheques to centre supervisors in the presence of Early Childhood Coordinator Mrs Vanta Walters.
The centres supervisors expressed their thanks for the donation which they said will go a long way in providing valuable learning materials for the children.
Pastor Springette explained that the installment of $1000 was just the beginning of what he hopes to be an ongoing relationship with the Early childhood Unit generally and the three centres respectively.
His church will continue to provide for the centres on a needs basis with funds going toward materials, learning aids and equipment.
Early Childhood Coordinator, Walters expressed heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Springette for the interest taken in early childhood development and specifically in the nations children at this crucial stage in the development process.
She called on other private sector organizations and social institutions and interest groups to follow suit in joining hands and hearts with the nations children
