                                  PAM Leader congratulates federations athletes
     

    Political leader of PAM, Mr Lindsay Grant congratulates Kim Collins
    The Leader of the Opposition People’s Action Movement Mr. Lindsay Grant applauded and praised the recent success’ of our National Sports Hero Mr. Kim Collins.

     

    “I am immensely proud of  Kim’s recent performances with his spectacular and convincing victories in Moscow, Russia some two weekends ago and in Lille, France over the last weekend,” the PAM Leader Mr.  Grant said.

    Mr. Grant continued, “Kim continues to do our country and indeed our entire Caribbean region proud on the international scene as one of the most successful and popular athletes in the world .”

     

    The Political Leader also extended congratulations to the St.Kitts and Nevis teams at the recently held Leeward Islands Junior Championships as the contingent, led by recent Olympic qualifier Meritzer Williams, took home numerous medals in the

    individual events and team competition. St. Kitts and Nevis took home a combined 27 medals from the event.

     

    “I must extend congratulations as well to the St.Kitts and Nevis athletes at the Leeward Island Junior Track and Field Championships over the weekend,” Mr. Grant said. “The SKNAAA and all the young athletes must be commended for their success and domination of the Championships held in Tortola,” Grant Continued.

     

    St. Kitts emerged as the overall champions for the event, scoring a total of 140.33 points. The British Virgin Islands earned a second place trophy for their team’s overall performance with 89.66 and Nevis rounded out the top three with a strong 74 points.

     

    Mr. Grant said, “The development of athletics has always been a vision of the People’s Action Movement.  

    It was the People’s Action Movement under the leadership of Dr. The Rt. Hon. Sir Kennedy Simmonds that gave local athletics their first and second big boost when they facilitated the hosting of the best OECS Track and Field Championship ever in 1990 and then the commitment of $1 million in early 1995 to Mission Atlanta which saw St. Kitts and Nevis being represented for the first time at the Olympic Games in 1996.”
