BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – SHE admits to thinking that it was impossible but was more than overjoyed when on hearing the good news that she had been named Kajola Kristada’s March 2012 Employee of the Month.

Blondelle Hanley of the Mini-Initial Production Line was informed of her achievement only last Thursday (Ap. 19).

“I was told by my supervisor Beulah Belle that I was named Employee of the Month. I didn’t expect it. I was very surprised...really, really surprised. I was excited too.”

For one to be named Employee of the Month, one must meet several criteria including punctuality, attendance, quality of work, efficiency and attitude.

Hanley told this publication that because circumstances beyond her control contributed to her missing the mark, she felt that she would have never won the Employee of the Month title.

Her recent accomplishment however has caused her to believe that even when things seem impossible they are still within one’s reach.

“I felt that this was impossible because most of the times I would be working, working, working and then something might come up and I would have to go out because I couldn’t reschedule. Because of that I dropped short of some of the criteria. But I finally did it.”

The 29-year-old mother of two who resides in Cayon encouraged her fellow-employees to strive for excellence even if it does not lead to an Employee of the Month title.

“I would tell all my fellow-employees to keep up the good work. Even if they don’t win Employee of the Month they should continue, continue, continue and be more dedicated to their job.”

Belle – Hanley’s supervisor - told this publication that she has seen the growth in her and noted that although she posed a challenge during the earlier years of her stint, she is a better and more dedicated worker today.

“She really improved over the years. She was a handful but somewhere along the line she has changed and even if she doesn’t make her regular goal for the day, she tries her utmost to make it. She wants to do her work and she wants to make her target. She always encourages others to do their work.

“I was so proud of her when my daughter told me, ‘Mommy, Blondelle said she won Employee of the Month’. She was overwhelmed, she didn’t expect that…My daughter did explain to me that she did say she will be working towards winning the award again.”

Only last year, Hanley received an “attendance bonus” and this, along with her most recent feat, motivates her to strive for bigger and better things.

    Congratulations Blondelle!
