    Social Security Donates Medical Equipment

     

    A brief ceremony to formally hand over medical equipment to the Joseph N. France General Hospital was held on Thursday 26th June 2008 in the waiting room of the X-Ray Department of the hospital. 

    A state of the art X-Ray machine valued at approximately EC$196,000.00 was symbolically presented to Health Minister Hon. Rupert Herbert by the Minister with responsibility for Social Security Hon. Terrence Sam Condor.

     

    The Dell Medical Model APX 525 X-Ray Unit is yet another significant piece of equipment contributed by Social Security under its committed program of annual contributions the delivery of quality health care in St. Kitts and Nevis. 

    Every year for the past sixteen years, this program has injected EC$270,000.00 into the health sector of the Federation.

     

    The Director of Social Security Mrs. Sephlin Lawrence, and Ministers Condor and Herbert all made remarks articulating a fitting perspective in keeping with Social Security’s overarching role in the community, and its assumption of its civic responsibilities in contributing to nation building. 

    The Chief Radiographer Mr. Joel Patrick expressed thanks on behalf of the principal hands-on users and also provided the gathering with an insightful technical overview of the equipment.

    • Deputy Director of Social Security, His Excellency Ambassador Steve Wrensford
    • Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health Mr. Elvis Newton
    • Director of Health Institutions Mrs. Jean Condor
    • Matron of the Hospital Mrs. Sonia Daley
    • Member of the Board of Social Security Mr. Frank Farrell
    • Operations Manager of the J. N. F. General Hospital Ms. Lornette Adams
    • Biomedical Engineer Mr. Fernando Ferrera of Cuba
    • A representative group of other nursing and other staff of the Hospital

     

    The ceremony was blessed by Social Security’s Benefits Customer Service Representative Mr. Walwyn Chiverton and was chaired by the Manager of Public Relations Department Mr. Chesil Hamilton.  ~~Adz:Left~~
