ROAD TOWN, Tortola - THE Royal Virgin Islands Police Force is offering a reward of US$100 000 for information that will lead to the identification and conviction of the person or persons involved in the recent murder of 32-year-old Lovell Parker.

It was reported that Parker was gunned down next to his white pickup near a bar in Scatliffe Alley sometime around 11 p.m. on Sunday, July 6.

Reports also state that Parker received gunshot wounds to his chest, abdomen, right leg and right thigh and died at about 1 a.m. while undergoing treatment at the Peebles Hospital.

According to Police sources, as of present, there is no motive for the killing but they are appealing to persons to go forward and help them solve the territory’s second murder for the year.

At the scene, Police discovered a white pick-up truck owned by the victim parked close to his home with a shattered glass on the passenger’s side while there were several spent shells found on the ground next to the vehicle.

Commissioner of Police Reynell Frazer stated in a press release that he is disheartened when such heinous acts of violence are perpetrated in the community.

“I am saddened that anyone among us would choose to resolve matters in such a violent and destructive way. These acts must stop and they will when we all decide not to tolerate it but to expose it,” Frazer said.

The Police are also offering rewards for unsolved murders in the territory.   ~~Adz:Right~~

“We are appealing to the public for information that will bring the perpetrator of this act to justice. It is important for the family of this victim to know as well as the perpetrator of this crime that we will not rest in our efforts to bring those responsible to justice,” the Commissioner said.

The first murder of the year took place in Freebottom in February when a mother of two, Donna Baronville, was shot to death on her apartment balcony. That murder remains unsolved.

Parker is said to be a father of three with a keen love and interest in Soft Ball.

The Anti-Drug and Violence Task Force within the RVIPF is heading the homicide investigation. Information can be reported to any officer within this unit by calling 1-284-494-3822 ext. 2716, 2717, 2718.

Persons can also contact Commissioner Frazer directly at 1-284-494-2945 as well as any Police officer with whom they feel comfortable or by calling the anonymous hotline 800-744-8477 or 800 -744-TIPS.
