Cayon Community Centre under construction. The completion date is set for July 2005.

Basseterre, St. Kitts (February 17, 2005): During a tour of Constituency #8 Ministers Honourable Cedric Liburd and Honourable Earl Asim Martin visited the Cayon Community Centre that is presently under construction.

The contractor for the facility Mr. Roland Stanley said that work began on the project last summer.  He explained that there had been some delays but the target completion date is July 2005.

Public Works Chief Engineer Mr. Delon James gave the specifics of the building.  He said that it is a two-tier concrete structure with a basement and an upper level.   On the lower level there will be an office, a storeroom and generator room.

The first floor will house a post office for Cayon and the surrounding areas.  The second floor will be the community center/hurricane shelter that includes a lounge, dining area and kitchen, a computer room and male and female bathrooms.
