BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A recent break-in at COURTS Limited on the Bay Road has spurred management to implement additional security measures.

Investigations made by this media house revealed that on Monday at approximately 3:30 a.m., assailant(s) forcibly gained access to the building and removed a number of items said to be Laptops and PCs. Sources indicated that the perpetrator(s) gained access by breaking the front glass door of the building.

Persons commuting to their places of employment yesterday morning observed security officers in and around the building conducting investigations into the break-in.

SKNVibes made several attempts to contact the Head of the Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Cromwell Henry, to find out if anyone was in custody in connection with the incident, but they were all futile.

This media house however contacted the business’ Regional Manager, Deon Francis, who expressed shock at what took place and explained that the company was taking steps in an effort to deal with the situation. ~~Adz:Right~~

“I think it’s a sad indication of the times in which we like. I’ve been on St. Kitts for about two years and the thought never crossed my mind that these things would ever happen. The Bay Road is very busy and for someone to do it the way it was done, I am just taken aback. We will make the adjustment and put additional security features in place,” Francis said.

COURTS Ltd. is the second furniture and appliance outlet on the island to be burglarised in as many weeks. On Tuesday, June 24, 2008 the TDC St. Kitts Home and Building Depot was broken into and management indicated that it is making investigations into the incident.
