BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO busses collided yesterday (May 1) at about 9:00 a.m. on the Island Main Road in the vicinity of the Christ Church bridge.

The accident involved HA73, driven by Ervin Hughes of Stone Fort Project, which was travelling towards the Basseterre area and H8821, driven by Glenford Henry of Saddlers Village, was travelling in the opposite direction.

According to Sergeant Calvin Amory of the Traffic Department, HA73 was travelling behind another passenger bus which stopped, and while Hughes was attempting to overtake the bus it collided with H8821.

A unit from the Emergency Medical Services was summoned to the scene and a passenger that was in one of the busses, who was said to be pregnant, was taken to the hospital.

There were no serious injuries reported.
