Five ft long snake

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - IN RECENT TIMES, more and more previously unknown and possibly deadly creatures are being discovered in the twin island Federation of St. Kitts  and Nevis - exotic fishes, deadly spiders, scary tarantulas, and more recently snakes!

Last evening, May 2nd, officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force found a snake at approximately 6:50 p.m.

They made this discovery while on patrol in the Frigate Bay area after it was struck by the vehicle in which the officers were patrolling.

This media house learnt that the snake is brown in colour and approximately five ft in length. Unfortunately it died sometime after being struck.

The snake was, however, taken to the Basseterre Police Station where it awaits examination by personnel from a veterinary clinic.

In 2010 the Federation’s eyes were opened to the existence of the deadly Black Widow Spider in the twin island, and sometime after that, the existence of tarantulas.

Every time a new species is found the same questions linger on the minds of the people of the Federation - “Where did they originate? How did they get here? And are there any more of such creatures on the island?” It makes one want to look more closely at anything that crawls these days!
