CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – THE search for Dylon Clarke continues and his family is offering EC$10 000 to anyone who can provide information leading to his location.

According to a press release from Lester Blackett, Director of the Nevis Disaster Management Department, that entity, with support from the police and assistance from other agencies and volunteers, would continue searching for the missing 17-year-old.

Blackett stated that search parties would be arranged from today (May 8) until Saturday (May 12) starting from 1:00 p.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m.

He also stated that the Disaster Management Office at Long Point would be the Base of the Operations/Assembly Point and the contact number is 469-1423.

An earlier police release had stated that Clarke was first reported missing on the afternoon of Sunday (Apr. 29) by family members, who stated that he had left home sometime after 2:00 p.m. on the previous day “to go for a walk” and has not returned since.

The release said that “it was noted that it was not a custom for the young man ‘to sleep out’ so an alarm was raised as early as Saturday evening when he did not return home”.

It also said that unconfirmed reports indicated that he was seen in the vicinity of Moon’s Bar in Church Ground up to about 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

He left home wearing a yellow Polo shirt, a short jean pants and Nike black and white sandals.

On the said day that police received report of Clarke gone missing, a party comprising members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the Fire and Rescue Services, as well as personnel from the Nevis Disaster Management Department and a number of other volunteers went in search of him.

Arrangements were also made for members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force to assist in the ongoing search.

Blackett indicated that searches would be conducted in a number of new areas and also those previously covered.

He is urging individuals to dress appropriately for the search and that they should bring along water and a snack.

“Persons who still wish to conduct searches on their own are urged to coordinate their searches with the Command Post established at the Nevis Disaster Management Department or with the police,” Blackett added.

The Director noted that the police and the family are again making a passionate and sustained plea to the general public for information on the whereabouts of Clarke.

“Information should be reported to the nearest Police Station or to members of the family. A reward of $10 000 has been posted by the family for information leading to the location of Dylon Clarke. The Police and other parties continue to intensively investigate this case.

“The support provided by the general public, volunteers and other agencies has been appreciated and we request further participation and support as the search continues,” Blackett said.
