BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – MANAGEMENT of the St. Kitts Music Festival have finally revealed their lineup for this year’s Sweet 16 celebration with award winning mega artiste Toni Braxton headlining the Saturday night’s event.

At the Media and Corporate Partners Breakfast Press Conference held today (May 9), the official roster was announced which include the local acts that will be gracing the stage.

Adrian Lam, Production Manager of the festival said they had to have the right mix to attract regional and international audiences along with pleasing the locals.

“Last few years the budget has been very tight but the festival has always been successful, and I personally believe that this is one of most exciting lineups of all festivals,” he said.

The festival will be held at the Warner Park’s football field from June 28 to 30.

The lineup for the Thursday, traditionally known as Jump Up night, will see the Spectrum Band, Krosfyah, Ali Dee, Nicha B, Masud Sadiki a.k.a. Stitch in Time, Shakki Starfire, Grand Masters Band and Machel Montano and Team HD.

Lam said the Spectrum Band is from St. Thomas and that the festival normally receives large audiences from that country.

He also said that Edwin Yearwood and Krosfyah performed at the festival when it was first held in 1996 and was excited to have them back for the 16th anniversary.

The local artistes, Stitch in Time, Ali Dee, Nicha B and Shakki Starfire, would all be backed by Grand Masters Band and there would also be a solo performance, according to Lam.

Lam explained that the local artistes selected for the festival were based on their accomplishments, as management tries to promote the best talent coming out of the Federation.

The Friday night will comprise of Lovindeer, Eric Donaldson, Courtney Pine, Morgan Heritage, I-Octane, Popcaan and Damian Jr. Gong Marley.

Lam said that Courtney Pine is a well known Jazz artiste from the United Kingdom, whose wife is a Kittitian, and he performs on all the major festivals in the UK.

“I think we have had all of the Marley sons on the festival including Stephen and Kymani Marley, except for Ziggy, who is not on tour at the moment. But we’re happy to have Damian on the lineup,” he said.

On the Saturday night, which will conclude the event, the lineup will include Bruce Skerrit and the Liamuiga Project, Roberta Flack, Omarion and Toni Braxton.

“We worked very hard to get this deal shut down, and we’re very pleased to have Toni (Braxton) on the St. Kitts Music Festival,” Lam said.
