BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A juvenile will soon be appearing before the Basseterre High Court at the May 2012 Criminal Assizes to stand trial for the murder of a teenager.

The juvenile, who is in his early teens, was charged with the murder of 14-year-old Bejay Dore of Warner Street, Cayon.

He appeared before the court Tuesday (May 8) for arraignment where he entered a plea of not guilty. At the time of his arraignment, the juvenile did not have legal representation.

Previous reports by this media house indicated that Dore lost his life on April 3, 2009 after he received what was described as a “long stab wound” to the right side of his neck following an altercation that took place at Maynard’s Park, Cayon.

After being stabbed, Dore is said to have ran from the area onto Warner Street and into his yard where he collapsed.

The lad, who at the time was a second form student at the Cayon High School, died on the scene.

The altercation was allegedly over a ball.

This new case will bring to four the total murder cases for this assizes along with one manslaughter case.

Denver Fyfield, Kelroy ‘C-Face’ Hazel, Jahari ‘Baddie’ Bart, Amal Whyte and Devon Fyfield are all facing murder charges that have been traversed from previous assizes.

Challenger, Shenroy Francis, Jami Rawlins, Glenroy Smithen and Moses Gardner are expected to stand trial for the murder/manslaughter of Gregory Zakers.
