BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – KITTITIANS continue to make their country, families and themselves proud in the academic arena, and the most recent of these scholars is Jomo Williams, who was among 700 individuals who graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa on Monday, March 5, 2012.
Williams graduated with a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management and his proud parents Clement ‘Bouncin’ Williams and Cynthis Williams, as well as other family members and close friends were on hand to witness the occasion.
Having served as an Operations Engineer in the now defunct St. Kitts Electricity Department from 2006, the scholar left the Federation in 2010 to pursue studies in Engineering Management, where he was taught to examine the human, financial and technical aspects of management in the context of facilities that conduct engineering activities such as power plants and manufacturing corporations.
Upon his return to St. Kitts, he would be joining the staff at the St. Kitts Electricity Company Limited.
Williams was one of the recipients of the 2010-2011 Organisation of the American States (OAS) graduate study scholarships.
In 2005, he had successfully graduated from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Design Technology.
Williams wishes to express his gratitude to the OAS and to encourage other young people to take advantage of the numerous opportunities for growth and development that are open to them.
