ST. GEORGE, Grenada, May 14th, 2012  --  The Cabinet of Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has authorized a change in the Road Traffic Regulations which authorizes the Grenada Transport Board to issue bus route stickers.

The Board replaces the Office of the Commissioner of Police, as the Licensing Authority for the purpose of issuing the stickers.

The change is designed to make the issuing of bus route stickers more transparent and efficient. It also removes the perception of bias and unfair treatment on the part of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) towards bus operators.

The Transport Board is comprised of the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) in the Ministry of Works as Chairman, the Commissioner of Police, the Officer in Charge of the Traffic Department, a representative of the Attorney General’s Chambers, a representative of insurance companies appointed by the Minister and two other persons appointed by the Minister of Works.
