Chronical Family ‘Education’ music video one of their best yet

By: Suelika N. Creque, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POSITIVE and uplifting is how some of our home grown artistes are living lately as evidenced by the recent music video ‘Education’ by Chronical Family of Cayon.

From beginning to end the song and music video resonate with the strong lyrics that are set to instill the theme  ‘Education is the Key’ in the minds of the youth and those the video reaches.

The song was written and performed by Duawne ‘Fire’ McSheene and Lynshel ‘Shakal’ Peets of the Chronical Family with vocals by Hailie-J.

The song was produced by Kelvin Christopher while the music video was produced by Tru Capo.

“We see the need of having more productive youths, seeing that a lot of youths are losing their focus and having no guidance. This is just our part in helping the situation in terms of spreading the message that education is real important especially in these times,” Mc Sheene said.

Another important aspect of the music video’s production is the support it received from the Ministry of Education.  Financial support from any entity, including the government office, is always a plus for artistes and the development of their craft.

“The song was funded by Ministry of Education’s Project Purple and we definitely want to extend our gratitude and appreciation to them.

“After the song was recorded we thought that it would be best we try and get them on board and they liked the idea. Hon. (Minister) Carty and executive member Tricia Esdaille from Project Purple really were the ones who helped us out along with other staff members so it was indeed a great initiative,” he said.

The video was shot at various schools and Mc Sheene said they were warmly welcomed by the students and staff of Basseterre High, Washington Archibald High, Cayon High and the Cayon Primary schools.

The Chronical Family has been quiet for some time now.  One of their past memorable music video releases was ‘Mama Love’ which was an instant hit as so many can agree that there is  nothing like a mothers’ love and can emotionally respond to that sentiment.

“We’ve been quiet working on the down low trying to get ways of making our music easier in terms of video production.

“But music is our life so expect some surprises; more of our artistes will also explode. People can expect more music and videos from us. We still want to make a mark internationally so we will continue by keeping the faith in the Most High and everything will happen in its time.

The video will officially be released to the general public tonight (May 16) on The People’s Show on ZIZ and can be viewed at the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRe5C2-5kQs
