    (EMU) – St. Kitts, May 18th, 2012  -- The Tucker Clarke Primary School Recently re-opened the doors to its newly refurbished computer Lab - the result of a collaborative venture between Delphic Newtown United Football Club and Mr. James Cabourne of Ocean’s Edge.

     

    A spokesperson for the Football Club reported that when they requested Mr. Cabourne’s assistance for the School, he did not hesitate but agreed immediately to meet with the principal, Sylvester Charles.Mr.
    Cabourne visited the Computer Lab and committed to upgrade the equipment.

     

    Mr. Cabourne’s prompt action resulted in the purchase and installation of 27 stat- of-the-art computers with accessories and 27 chairs from Peter.KN . Owner, Peter Chevozerov agreed to set up the computers free of cost and to provide other guidance on their use.

     

    Delphic Newtown  United  undertook other activities to improve the aesthetics and comfort of the room such as repairing the cooling system, painting the interior, installing new curtains, and enhancing the security of the Lab.

     

    Commenting on a tremendous show of support from a number of individuals, organizations and corporate citizens, Delphic New Town President Mark Hodge said it was overwhelming. He revealed that the St. Kitts Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) Premier Division football players painted the Computer Lab with discounted paint provided by Builder’s Paradise. Mr. Philmore Warner of Lennox Warner & Partners provided supervision for the players.

     

    An internal air conditioning unit was serviced and repaired by Larry and Dion Maynard of Maynard’s Air Conditioning. Federal Air Conditioning provided an external unit at a discounted price.  The curtains were made and donated by Sun Island Clothing. The security system was purchased by Ocean’s Edge and installed free of charge by Caribbean Security Systems, a company, which will also monitor the system, thanks to the generosity of Mr. Paul Ferguson.

     

    Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Mrs. Ionie Liburd Willett told the Education Media Unit that the generosity and cooperation shown in this venture is exactly what is needed in the national development thrust. She added that she was pleased that in this case, the Ministry of Education, and more specifically, the Tucker Clarke Primary School, had benefitted.

     

    She invited other corporate citizens to partner with the Ministry in similar ventures.
