BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Green Valley Committee has revealed the beautiful contestants that will be competing in their pageant this year which will be held under the theme, ‘Beautiful with a Purpose’.
The five contestants will be Teresita Stephen sponsored by De Green Valley Pub, TracyAnn Gaskin sponsored by Diamond & Pearls Inc., Shenniqua Cannonier sponsored by National Bank, Sasha Johnson sponsored by Yogi’s Welding and Jerleen Pemberton sponsored by Lutron Liamgua.
The show will be held on Friday, May 25, at Maynard’s Park.
According to Linda Demming, the pageant coordinator, this year they have added two new segments Creative Wear and Interview which will coincide with their theme.
“We want the pageant to be more than just about beauty but also want to showcase beauty with brains and we’re hoping that they would be role models even after the show,” she said.
The other segments the contestants will appear in are Fanfare, Speech, Talent and Evening wear.
This is also the first time that Demming is the Chairperson of the pageant and she said that the experience is exciting.
She said the winner of the pageant will definitely be one that is ‘beautiful with a purpose’, one with a positive attitude and one who can make a difference in the community.
And in order to help build a bond between the ladies they have already participated in a number of activities including dinners and going to the movies.
The show will be hosted by Nicola Thompson and admission is EC$20.
