    Kittitian arrested on MV Seabridge fined for possession of drugs

    ~~Adz:Right~~ CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - ABRAHAM THOMAS of Saddlers Village, St. Kitts was yesterday fined EC$1 500 by Magistrate Yasmine Clarke for possession of cannabis.

     

    Thomas, who was arrested on July 11, 2008, pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of cannabis. He was ordered to pay the fine within three months or if in default would be sentenced to three months imprisonment.

     

    Acting on a tip off on the material day, Police officers intercepted Thomas while he was aboard the MV Seabridge.

     

    In the same court, Magistrate Clarke ordered Cleve David to pay a total of EC1 000 for throwing a bottle and maliciously damaging KGS store’s window. He was fined EC$500 and a further EC$500 as compensation to the owner of the store.

     

    Sean Powell of Jessups was fined EC$1 500 for possession of cannabis. He is required to pay the fine within two months or spend six months in prison. Powell, who pleaded guilty, committed the offence on July 11, 2008

     

    Vere Henry will have to pay an EC$1 000 fine within three months, and if in default three months imprisonment for being found in possession of controlled drugs.
