Ministry of Tourism and International Transport Expresses Sincere Condolences

The late Kevin ’Masud Sadiki’ Donovan
Press Release

BASSETERRE St. Kitts, May 22nd 2012 - It is with great sadness that on behalf of the Minister of Tourism and International Transport Senator Ricky Skerritt, and the entire Ministry including the St. Kitts Tourism Authority and ofcourse the St. Kitts Music Festival, we extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Masud Sadiki in this period of shock and grief.

We certainly mourn the loss of a local musical icon - a reggae singer, a calypsonian, soca artist and just a great, great individual. We were all looking forward to Masud Sadiki’s performance this year on the sweet sixteen edition of the St. Kitts Music Festival, which always been involved with as a performer, a host, media personality, or spearheading the sales and promotion of local music at the event.

Therefore, his contribution to the entertainment and tourism sector of the Federation will not be forgotten, and certainly we should all work to ensure that his memory is indeed celebrated.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Masud’s family and friends at this most difficult time.
