BASSETERRE St. Kitts, May 23rd, 2012 -- Operation Future has garnered a new tool to utilize in the quest to educate the community and children about the dangers of youth, crime and violence. For a long time Operation Future has depended on the extreme generosity of Mr. Seymour Williams in providing transportation for it’s members to the various presentations throughout the Federation.
Recently a private individual came forward and offer Operation Future an interest free loan with generous repayment plan allowing Operation Future to purchase it’s own transportation.
On Friday May 18th Operation Future acquired a Ford Pick Up Truck, and immediately adorned it with its messages. The vehicle will be used for the transportation of members and equipment as well as provide support to activities such as beach clean ups and community graffiti projects. It will be well loved and well used.
The vehicle was adorned in slogans and symbols created by Mr. Clinton Swanston in Nevis. These include the international sign for NO over gangs, bullies, drugs, violence, guns and anger. In addition to our URL address for Operation Future’s website contact numbers to reach members are also adorned on the vehicle as well as slogans to send positive messages including “Use Your Brains: Stay Away from Gangs”; “Give Hugs Not Drugs”; “Have you hugged your mother/child today?”; “Education and Mentorship Not Handcuffs and Prison” and our Motto “Greater Achievement for Every Child”.
In due course the goal of Operation Future will be to have it’s very own bus, a goal that we know we will achieve because all things come to those who are patient and work hard.
