CHARLESTOWN Nevis, May 24th, 2012 -- The NHCS wishes to inform the general public that a group of archaeology students from Monmouth University (New Jersey, USA) are currently completing a full documentation of the Saddle Hill Fortifications.
This work is part of a multi-year project called the Nevis Heritage Survey Project organized by team leader Dr. Edward Gonzalez-Tennant in collaboration with the NHCS.
A primary goal of the project is to put the interests of Nevisians first and the team is very interested in the opinions of Nevisians towards heritage resources such as the Saddle Hill Fortifications.
A public visitation day is planned for Saturday June 2nd between 10am and 12noon. All school children are especially invited to this visitation day.
The NHCS invites the general public to visit the work site, observe the work being conducted and participate in a tour of the site.
