Press Release

ST. GEORGE, Grenada,  May 29th,  2012   --  Grenada’s Opposition Leader, Dr the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell, is calling on  Prime Minister Tillman Thomas  to demonstrate the principles of good governance, accountability and transparency by providing information to the Grenadian public regarding a large sum of money deposited into the account of a senior member of Government from a foreign source.

According to the Former Prime Minister even while the NDC administration continues to give lip service to these principles, there are growing allegations of corruption in Government projects including projects financed by the Basic Needs Trust Fund, the Community Development Division and other Government agencies and projects.

In light of this, the Opposition Leader is calling on the Government to provide the Grenadian public with detailed information on the funds deposited, including the source of funds, the purpose of the funds and the name of the senior government official who was given a portion of the funds.
