BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - “The 2012 athletic season will EXPLODE in the next few days when the St. Kitts and Nevis Amateur Athletic Association (SKNAAA) hosts the 2012 National Invitational & Club Championships on Sunday 3rd June 2012 and the 2nd Biennial OECS Invitational on Sunday 10th June 2012.
The National Invitational & Club Championship will feature six member clubs from the Federation:

S. L Horsford Pace Setters

The SKNAA has partnered with the St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee and has received sponsorship from Digicel. Digicel will be offering in stadium activities for their fans through the dash for cash promotion when spectators will have the opportunity to actually race a specified distance and win cash.
This weekend is a perfect opportunity to witness St. Kitts and Nevis’ greatest as our athletes vie for supremacy. One can expect scintillating performances from athletes like Kim Collins, Brijesh Lawrence and Tameka Williams, whose 2012 performances earned them top 30 rankings in the world for 2012. Other athletes notably ranked on the IAAF 2012 top listings for indoor and outdoor performances are Antoine Adams, Lestrod Roland, Virgil Hodge and Tiandra Ponteen. Amongst these athletes, some have already attained qualifying marks for the London 2012 Olympics. ALL of them will compete at Sunday’s championships!
Sunday 3rd June will also be the final opportunity for our athletes to attain qualifying marks for:
2012 CAC Junior Championships (El Salvador, San Salvador)
2012 NACAC Under 23 Championships (Guanajuato, Mexico)
2012 World Junior Championships (Barcelona, Spain)
2012 CUT Games (Kingston, Jamaica)
XXX Olympic Games (London, England)
The week following the National Invitational, the 2012 OECS Invitational will be held on Sunday 10th June 2012. The St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Team will represent the Federation against eight (8) other competing countries namely: Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, British Virgin Islands, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Lucia and St. Vincent & the Grenadines with a special appearance from Trinidad & Tobago’s male and female relay team.
Both meets promise to be exciting!¬! Competition will start at 3pm on both Sunday 3rd and 10th.
