    Young Employee Socialization Training completed 14 locals graduate

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - YESTERDAY, 14 young school-leavers and persons new to the corporate work world graduated from of the Sixth Annual Young Employee Socialization Training Programme.

     

    The ceremony was held in the Kishu D. Chandiramani Conference Room of the St Kitts & Nevis Chamber of Industry & Commerce Building on Horsfords Road and was attended by parents and facilitators along with the proud participants.

     

    The proceedings were chaired by Dawne Heyliger of the Eastern Caribbean Institute of Banking’s (ECIB) Local Committee, which has sponsored the programme since it began six years ago as the brainchild of Analdo Bailey, CEO of the institution.

     

    Over an the eight day period members of the business community lectured the graduates on 24 topics giving them insight into subject areas such as the role of the stock exchange in the O.E.C.S and what the Caribbean Single Market Economy means for smaller territories.

     

    During the ceremony’s activities one group was lead by Leon Norford and they expounded on the importance of good grooming in the workplace using power-point presentations and creative skits.   ~~Adz:Right~~

     

    Dimitrios Adamopoulos Country Manager of Bank of Nova Scotia and a Director of the Chamber of Industry & Commerce distributed certificates to 13 of the graduates as one participant was unable to attend the ceremony. Facilitators of the training programme were also recognised with certificates though many were not present to receive their accolades.

     

    Loriel Nisbett, voted Most Outstanding Student by her peers, gave the vote of thanks, commending the facilitators and the sponsors for an outstanding job and reminding the grandaunts that “attitude is a small thing that makes a big difference”.
