Basseterre, St. Kitts (March 02, 2005): The St. Kitts Scenic Railway is prominently featured in the March edition of the leading railway document in print The Railway Magazine.
According to Marketing Manager for the U.K., Europe and the Southern Caribbean, Randolph Hamilton, In an article entitled Rails in Paradise the writer, Mike Maloney presents the story of the St. Kitts Scenic Railway paying attention to the details that make the train a hit among guests.
Hamilton explained that the author does an incredible job, painstakingly painting a picture of scenery and service which are hard to verbalize. A piece which contributed to the officials consideration of him as a competitor for the Order of the British Empire.
Mike, also known as the Railway Magazine Man was awarded the OBE for his services in photo journalism. The journalist who has won over 100 awards gave the St. Kitts Scenic Railway high marks for the resourceful use of the sugar line which was originally constructed for industrial purposes.
