    Cheque handing over ceremony to be held Wednesday afternoon

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 23RD 2008 (CUOPM) – A cheque for the financing of sporting facilities in Challengers and Half Way Tree will be handed over to the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis Wednesday afternoon.

     

    During a brief ceremony planned fore the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ambassador of the Republic of China of China on Taiwan, His Excellency Rong-chuan Wu will had over the cheque to Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, who is also Minister of Sports.

     

    Both Prime Minister Douglas and Ambassador Wu are expected to give brief remarks during the ceremony.
     
    Financing for several projects were agreed by the Governments of the Republic of China on Taiwan and St. Kitts and Nevis during an Official Visit to Taiwan by Prime Minister Douglas, who held talks with then President His Excellency Chen Shui-Bian.
     
    Newly-installed Presdient, His Excellency Dr. Ma Ying-jeon has told Prime Minister Douglas he is committed to the promises made to the Government and People of St. Kitts and Nevis when the Federation’s leader visited Taipei in late January/early February this year. ~~Adz:Right~~
