Horsford’s revamps Facebook page; receives 1000-plus “likes”

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE importance and reach of social media has been resonating within the business community, resulting in a number of corporate citizens either creating and launching Facebook and other pages or giving new faces to existing ones.

     

    S. L. Horsford’s Co. Ltd. recently unveiled its revamped Facebook and Twitter pages as well as its YouTube channel.

     

    Marketing Executive of the company, Wallis Wilkin – who spoke exclusively with SKNVibes – explained that the company’s Facebook page was launched in 2011 as one of its marketing tools and since then it has been redesigned; a move which he said generated much public interest.

     

    “Although the Facebook page was launched in 2011, the Horsford’s Marketing Department gave the page an injection of ingenuity and rebranded it. The rebranding included heightened efforts to engage members and customers by not only offering information on products, sales and promotional campaigns, but also daily tips and advice on issues including car care, recipes and health.”

     

    Wilkin informed that one of the exciting features of the renovated page is the opportunity for members or persons who would have “liked” the page to win free prizes.

     

    “The revamped page also offers members and prospective members the chance to win various prizes as a result of being a member. They also have the opportunity to receive coupons which can be redeemed at our various outlets, ” Wilkin added.

     

    Expressing extreme confidence in the reach of S. L. Horsford’s social media pages, Wilkin remarked, “The Facebook page is arguably the fastest-growing St. Kitts Nevis company-related page since the rebranding of the page some three weeks ago. It has grown exponentially from 150 users and passed the 1 000 “likes” mark in less than one month.
     
    “This is no doubt due to the tremendous range of offers and company information and insights into company promotions and sales campaigns.”

    Wilkin indicated that the YouTube channel was launched last year but was revamped about one month ago and features most of the company’s video ads. And the Twitter page was recently launched.
