Two arrested in Sandy Point armed robbery!!
Ganja plants uprooted in cane fields

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO men are in custody assisting Police with their investigation into an armed robbery that occurred in Sandy Point on Friday, July 25.

Reports reaching SKNVibes, which were confirmed by Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Cromwell Henry, state that on Friday at about 1320 hours, two armed masked men robbed a female employee of Sunrise Bakery in Sandy Point of an undisclosed sum of money.

This media house learnt that the two men approached the woman when she was about to enter the National Bank, Sandy Point Branch, and robbed her of an undisclosed sum of money she was carrying in a deposit bag.

Fortunately, the woman was unharmed but the men made good their escape with the money. However, investigations led the Police to two suspects who are currently in custody assisting with the ongoing investigation.

A release said, “The Police make its usual appeal to persons who may have witnessed this crime, or have any information, to contact the Sandy Point Police Station at telephone number 465-6261. Information given will be held in strict confidence.”

Meanwhile, in its continued Search and Eradication Operation, the District ‘B’ Crime Response Unit discovered a number of marijuana plants in two separate cane fields in St. Kitts.

According to a release, yesterday [Saturday] members of the Crime Response Unit uprooted 1,015 marijuana plants ranging from one foot to 10 feet in two separate plots within cane fields at Ottley’s Project.

The plants, along with others uprooted in a previous operation, totalling 9,000, were destroyed by fire at a Conaree site.
