Press Release

BASSETERRE St. Kitts, June 25th 2012 - For one week only, the Cayon Church of God will be holding a series of meetings under the blue and white tent at Lower Cayon with a main focus on the youth.  The theme of these meetings is: ‘The Choice Is Yours”, and through the messages, songs, testimonies and movie, young people will be reminded that they have the power of choice and can choose between right and wrong, good and bad.  They can choose between a life of crime, violence, drugs and immorality or a life of right living which is found in Jesus Christ.  In addition to this, they will be reminded that all choices have their consequences.

Speakers for these meeting are Bishop Ron Collins and Rev. Troy Watson of St. Kitts.  The other speaker hails from Trinidad and Tobago in the person of Mr. Wayne Chance.

Mr. Chance is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer and President of Vision on Mission, a nonprofit organization based in Trinidad & Tobago.  Vision on Mission is an Anticrime, Ex-prisoner In transit Rehabilitative Delinquency Treatment Centre.

Vision on Mission was founded in 1996 while Mr. Chance was serving an eight (8) year prison sentence at the Port of Spain State Prison.  During his incarceration, he had the opportunity to do some introspection and eventually came to the realization that there was an integral role he could play – using the rehabilitative approach – in addressing the issues of crime and violence affecting Trinidad and Tobago.

In 2010, in recognition of his dedication to the integration of ex-inmates, Mr. Chance was awarded the Humming Bird Medal (Silver) Award (T&T) in the sphere of Community Services.  Mr. Chance also co-host the daily radio talk show: “Take Two” on I 95.5 FM.  Mr. Chance is a very good motivational speaker and does an exceptionally good job in communicating with young people.

The services commence on Sunday June 24 and will end on Friday June 29, 2012.  For those who are interested in attending the times of the services, are Sunday 8:30 am and 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday 7:30 pm.

A warm welcome awaits all who will attend these services.
