    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, MARCH 9, 2005
     Four nationals of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis will undergo an intensive 10-day training programme in diplomacy in the Republic of China (Taiwan).
     
    Assistant Secretaries in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in St. Kitts, Mrs. Agatha Caines, Ms. Ghislaine Williams and Ms. Thensia Grey and Mrs. Angela Scarborough of the Premiers Ministry in Nevis will attend the programme dubbed: The First English Diplomatic Seminar for the Caribbean Region.
     
    The March 14 to 23 seminar is the first of this type of training programme ever offered by the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and was agreed in Taipei during the Eight Meeting between the Foreign Ministers of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the allies in the Eastern Caribbean last August.
     
    The four young ladies will undergo an intensive 10 days of training which will incorporate visits to important and historical sites, Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of China, Franklin Chen told the Communications Unit of the Office of the Prime Minister.
     
    He said the purpose of the training seminar is to reinforce the participants understanding about the Republic of China (Taiwan), their diplomatic professionalism and to also enhance exchange and friendship between the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China and the diplomats of the allies
